Join us for a very special coffee tasting featuring Alo Coffee’s first-ever auction lots, produced at altitudes of 2,400–2,580 masl, among the very highest in the world. These coffees were processed at Alo’s Sidama washing station, run by 2021 COE winner Tamiru Tadesse and his wife, and grown by 13 individual farmers whose lots are now making waves on the global stage.
To put things in perspective, in July, Ethiopia’s Testi Coffee auction yielded prices ranging from $219/kg to an astonishing $1,604/kg and these Alo lots are expected to be just as sought-after. With each lot sized only 5–15 kg, they will be quickly scattered around the world after the auction, making this tasting one of the only chances to experience them together. We’ll explore up to six distinct processing methods - from washed to natural, anaerobic, hybrid, and even experimental “darkroom-dried” approaches showcasing just how innovative and expressive these coffees truly are.
Don’t miss the chance to cup these incredibly rare, boundary-pushing Ethiopian coffees with us. Once they’re gone, they may never be on the same table again.
